Also the picture is good, but I'm pretty sure the animal rights activists would not be happy. Or they would be very happy. I forget which. Anyway, keep up the good work, my brother does 3-D modeling too.

| 21 Nov 2006 | Mystique | Loading...this is amazing! i would NOT want to encounter this hunter - much less his hounds! i can just imagine it, traveling at night and becoming aware that this hunt is going on somewhere near... and even worse, that you're the hunted! an image fit to send chills down my spine! well done!!! also i didn't know the dark hunt was connected with this celtic deity... i thought it was just odin? | |

It’s a shame it only took second. It definitely deserved first. So, I think I shall give it an honorary first!!!

Don’t be so overawed by his magnificent bod and the red horse that you fail to notice His wonderful red velvet cloak with the hem embroidery. However, the Celtic hounds of Anwyn were white dogs with red ears - as in the Mabinogion. I know most people would associate black dogs with the hunt, as they associate black dogs with the devil & things demonic, but its not mythologically pc. Granted these hounds do look indeed "hellish", looks like they have some dragon in their ancestry. However, the hound of the wild hunt were not of Hell. The legend is pre-Christian and Hell had no place in it. Always think of the wild hunt when the geese fly overhead as winter approaches. The crys of the geese were supposed to sound like the baying of the wild hunt hounds - I think they were called the gannett hounds. I suppose if you heard them and it was dark and you couldn’t see them it could be eerie.
By the way, some traditions have Diana as the leader of the wild hunt.
